Introducing: This New Way 🚀
Introducing This New Way — A tactical AI podcast for leaders redefining how work gets done.
The way we work is changing fast.
That’s why we’re evolving this newsletter.
You might remember the Supermanagers podcast, a show we launched during the pandemic to help managers and their teams work better together in a remote setting.
AI has reshaped how work gets done – again. So we decided it was time for the podcast and the newsletter to evolve.
Today, we’re excited to introduce This New Way, a show for leaders who want real examples and step-by-step workflows from executives and operators using AI to radically improve how work gets done.
Each episode of This New Way comes with a companion newsletter (such as this one), breaking down the tools and tactics into easy, actionable tutorials.
We’re kicking things off with a breakdown of how I use AI to:
Cut my board meeting prep time in half.
Translate customer feedback into Product Requirement Documents, in under 2 minutes.
Tutorial 1: Create your board meeting report in under 10 minutes with AI
Busy execs, meet your new workflow: record a voice memo, feed it into ChatGPT, and get a polished board report in minutes.
Start with a previous report
Pull up a past board report (e.g., “State of the Product”).
Copy a section with the writing tone you want to replicate.
Prompt ChatGPT to analyze the style
Paste this into ChatGPT (Model O3 preferred) and use the prompt: “Can you please describe the writing style here so that anyone can replicate it? Be extremely precise and detailed.”
Record a voice memo
Use the ChatGPT desktop or mobile app to record a voice memo describing the update you want to write about (e.g., a new feature, a team achievement).
Let ChatGPT transcribe it automatically.
Generate the section
Prompt: “Use the transcript from my voice memo to write a section in the same style you described above.”
Paste in the transcript of your voice memo.
Review and refine
Read the output and make quick edits
You can rerun it using a different model (e.g., GPT-4 or Claude) if needed for tone or detail.
Create a reusable workflow
Save your style guide and process as a “Project” in ChatGPT for future reports.
Upload past memos and relevant docs for persistent context.
Repeat
For each new board section, just speak your memo → paste into your project → generate → review → done.
No more overthinking the first draft. Just fast, consistent, high-quality reporting with AI.
Tutorial 2: Create a product requirement document in under 2 minutes
This method reduces communication gaps between product, engineering, and leadership.
Record the meeting in Fellow:
Host or attend the customer interview using an AI meeting note taker such as Fellow.
Prompt Fellow:
After the meeting, use the "Ask Fellow" feature. Prompt it with something direct like: "What feedback did [Customer Name] have on the product?"
Prompt Fellow with the structure you want:
Let Fellow generate a high-level summary. Then immediately prompt again with: "Write a Product Requirements Document (PRD) based on the feedback from this conversation. Use the following structure: Problem, Job to Be Done, Proposed Solution."
Review and share:
Quickly skim the PRD for major errors or gaps. Then copy it directly into your company wiki, or wherever your product/engineering team operates.
